The boring but important page

Privacy & text messages

Short version: we collect your name, your email, and your phone number if you give it to us. We use them to tell you about the weekly drop and to sort out your pickup. We do not sell them, rent them, or hand them to anybody else. You can leave at any time and we will not be weird about it.

Bad Banana Bakehouse is a registered Nevada cottage food operation in Southern Highlands, Las Vegas, run by one person out of a home kitchen. Questions about anything on this page go to banannygranny@gmail.com.

What we collect

Your name

So your bag has your name on it.

Your email

For the Thursday drop announcement and your order confirmation.

Your phone number, if you give it

Optional. Used for pickup day, and for drop announcements only if you specifically ticked the box.

Your order details

What you ordered, your pickup window, and any allergy notes you tell us. We keep allergy notes because we would rather not poison you.

Text messages

There are two different kinds and they work differently.

Pickup texts

If you leave a number when you order, we may text you about that order. Your loaf is ready. You left your bag. We are running ten minutes behind. These are part of the order itself.

Drop announcements

Marketing. You only get these if you ticked the box that says so. About one to two messages a week. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your carrier and plan. Consent is never a condition of buying anything.

To stop texts: reply STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or email us. You can also just ask, and we will take you off by hand.

Emails

Every email we send has a way out of it. Reply STOP, click the unsubscribe link, or email us and say the word. We will not ask you to fill in a survey about why.

Who else sees it

Nobody, other than the services we use to actually run the thing. Our website host stores form submissions. Our database stores your order so it shows up on the phone in the kitchen. If we ever use a service to send texts, that service will process the message. None of them are allowed to use your details for their own purposes, and we do not sell or share your information with anyone for money, ever.

How long we keep it

Order records stay while we are trading, because we are required to keep business records and because it helps us remember that you are allergic to pecans. If you want your details deleted, email us and we will do it and confirm when it is done.

Wrong number, changed email, misspelled name. Tell us and we will correct it.

Stop the messages

STOP for texts, unsubscribe for email, or just say so.

Children

This is a bakery, not a service for children. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. If that happened by accident, tell us and we will delete it.
